THE BLACK PANTHERS: VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION is a documentary about the rise and fall of the Black Panther Party in America in the 1960s and 70s.

Language

There are four uses of strong language (three uses of 'f**k' and one of 'motherf**ker'). Black people use the term 'nigger' from time to time and black people are described as 'negroes' in archive 1960s television news reports and newspaper headlines.

Disturbing images

There is a black and white still picture of the body of Fred Hampton, a leading Black Panther Party figure who was shot dead by police. The body lies face down on the floor and blood has pooled by the head. There are also associated black and white images of a heavily bloodstained mattress and a smear of blood on the floor.

Other issues include archive footage of civil disorder and police brutality, and some drug references.
