BIG EYES is a drama, based on the true story of Margaret Keane, an artist whose husband passed off her celebrated portraits of melancholy children as his own.

Language

Threat

There is a scene in which a character pokes lighted matches through the keyhole of a door, into a room in which two characters are hiding.

There is a single drug reference when a character asks whether an espresso is like a 'reefer'. There is also a mild sex reference when a character remarks that her friend's husband has "diddled every skirt in the art circuit".

There are two scenes of violence. The first is a scene of mild comic violence when two characters get into a scuffle at a bar and throw punches at one another, all of which are without any impact detail. The second occurs when a character raises a fork to a man's eyeball, although there is no impact.

Throughout the film, characters are seen smoking.
