THE BIG CITY is a 1963 Bengali language drama in which a housewife starts earning when she becomes a saleswoman, arousing mixed feelings amongst her extended family.

Sex

Infrequent mild sex references include an Anglo-Indian woman referring to a book on sex in which women wear lipstick. She does this in order to encourage the main character to try some lipstick on herself.

There is a brief mild scuffle between angry employees, one of whom shoves and tugs at the hair of a male character. Infrequent very mild bad language ('damn', 'son of a...') also occurs, as well as scenes of smoking.
