BERLIN SYNDROME is a drama in which a tourist begins a relationship with a schoolteacher who soon reveals himself to be a dangerous obsessive.

Threat

A woman finds herself imprisoned in a man's apartment, unable to communicate with the outside world.

Violence

Scenes of strong violence include a woman ramming a screwdriver through a man's hand and another man being hit over the head with a steel tool. In another scene, a woman's hand is deliberately trapped in a door.

Sex

There is breast and buttock nudity during scenes in which a man and woman have sex. One of these scenes occurs during the woman's imprisonment by the man.

Nudity

In addition to the nudity in the sex scenes, a man takes nudes pictures of women and these are seen in an album.

There is infrequent strong language ('f**k'), as well as milder bad language such as 'shit' and 'crap'.

There is also brief sight of people smoking marijuana.
