BEN-HUR is a drama in which a galley slave, a Jewish prince accused of attempting to assassinate a Roman official, escapes and becomes a champion chariot racer.

Violence

Moderate violence includes people being shot with arrows and stabbed with swords. Bloodshed is minimal and little or nothing is seen in terms of discernible injury detail.

Injury detail

In one scene a young man is seen with a bloody injury to an upper arm; the wound is later cauterised with a hot knife. In another sequence a charioteer sustains a bloody injury during a race when his head collides with a wall. A little blood is also seen on the ground after another man is run over and dragged beneath a chariot.

Threat

There is moderate threat in both the chariot race and in a sea battle in which a Roman galley is rammed and sunk by an enemy warship, leaving galley slaves chained to their oars struggling for survival.
