BEHIND THE CANDELABRA is a biopic about the pianist and entertainer Liberace's relationship with one of his lovers. It is rated 15 for strong language, sex, sex references and drug use.

Strong language includes use of both 'f**k' and 'c**ksucker'. Other language includes 'shit' and 'bullshit', as well as discriminatory terms, 'fag' and 'fairy queen'.

Strong sex is mostly confined to scenes between Liberace and his lover. There is no nudity in these scenes and no strong detail, but there is some sexual movement. Liberace is also seen watching pornography on a television screen. The images are small and only briefly seen, but they give an impression of strong sex. There are also graphic images of plastic surgery being performed which includes close sight of incisions being made, but with little blood.
