Summary Directed by Michel Gondry ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"), this comedy stars Jack Black as Jerry, whose plans to sabotage a power plant go awry. Now magnetized, he accidentally erases every tape at the video store where his friend Mike (Mos Def) works. But their most loyal customer -- an elderly woman whose mind is starting to slip -- still expects to see her favourite movies, so Jerry and Mike set out on the near-impossible task of re-creating every movie in the store. Meanwhile the store's owner (Danny Glover)has taken time away from work to study more successful video stores in the hopes of finding a way to make business boom for his little "Be Kind Rewind" video rental outfit. It isn't long before Mike and Jerry's movie making scheme attracts the attention of the locals who flock to the store to rent the laugh-a-minute remakes of well known films. Unfortunately though, their little film making enterprise also attracts the attention of an FBI agent (Sigourney Weaver) who has more than a few legal issues to discuss them. The community do what they can to rally round their local film making heroes as they go head to head with the FBI.
