Note: The following text may contain spoilers

THE BAADER MEINHOF COMPLEX is about the terrorist organisation which bombed and shot its way to infamy in Germany in the early 1970s. It has been passed '18' for very strong language and the cumulative effect of this, frequent strong violence, nudity and intense scenes.

The very strong language is spoken mainly by Andreas Baader and is in keeping with his impulsive character. Some uses are made to female characters, and aggressive.

The strong violence takes the form mostly of bombings and shootings which are, occasionally, quite bloody and brutal. It is all historically contextualised, but can be intense and distressing, as in a scene involving the forced feeding of a dying hunger striker.

The film also contains some nudity, including a scene set on a nudist beach involving men, women and children, and other scenes of nudity involving members of the gang.
