Note: The following text may contain spoilers

APOCALYPSE NOW is a drama set during the Vietnam war about a US army Captain who is sent on a mission to kill a US army Colonel who has become murderously deranged.

Violence

There is strong bloody violence when a man is hacked to death, and when a Vietnamese civilian is shot by a machine gun with sight of bloody impact detail. Injury detail is also gory when a US soldier is seen screaming in pain after having his legs blown off and when a severed head is dropped into the lap of another man.

Language

There is strong language ('f**k').

There is an unsimulated scene of animal killing when a bullock is slaughtered with a machete. There are also uses of racist language, including terms such as 'slopes', 'dinks' and 'gooks', and brief images of sexualised nudity when topless women are seen posing in magazines. Soldiers are also seen smoking marijuana.
