THE AMITYVILLE ASYLUM is a horror film in which a young woman becomes a night shift cleaner at a mental institution in Amityville, only to find that the institution has been built on the site of the original 'Amityville Horror' house.

Violence

There are scenes in which characters are shot with a shotgun and other firearms, with blood spraying onto walls and pooling on the floor. In one scene, an inmate slices into his own cheek with a blade and uses his fingers to peel away the flesh from his cheek.

There are a number of uses of strong language ('f**k'). Moderate and mild bad language includes the terms 'bastards', 'cock', 'prick', 'pussy', 'shit', 'son of a bitch' and 'whore'. Strong verbal sex references also feature, for example, in one scene an asylum inmate shouts to another through a cell wall, "My cock is so hard... I'm touching myself," and in another scene a male inmate says to a passing female character, "I can smell your pussy."
