Summary Disney's "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life-a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he's not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn't had one.

ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY is a US comedy about a family having a day where everything goes wrong for them.

Language

Mild bad language is used when Alexander says, "I had a crap day". There is also a use of 'oh my god', and a moment when Alexander's mother stubs her toe and almost swears, shouting "Mmmmmmother!"

Sex

There are some mild sex references, including to teenagers "making out". There is a scene in which a group of male strippers are about to perform at a children's party, but the parents rush up to them shouting "PG! PG!"; the men instantly understand and adapt their routine so they dance in a non-sexual way. Alexander is humiliated at school when someone superimposes his head onto a series of photos of women, including one in a swimsuit, one in a bikini, and one wearing stockings and suspenders. The effect is comic rather than sexual.
