Note: The following text may contain spoilers

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE is a musical romance based on Beatles music and set in 1960s Liverpool, Princeton University and New York City.

Drugs

There are scenes of characters smoking marijuana. The film also contains verbal drugs references and a few surreal scenes, often in psychedelic colours, that are a reference to the drug culture of the 1960s. The scenes offer no instructional detail and they do not promote the misuse of drugs.

Nudity

There is breast nudity and sight of bare buttocks.

Language

There is infrequent strong language (‘f**ked’), when a character talks to her mother in distress and exasperation about the war in Vietnam. There is moderate bad language throughout.

There are also some mild violence and sex references.
