2 DAYS IN PARIS is a romantic comedy drama about sexual liberation and human relationships. It has been passed 15 for one use of very strong language and multiple uses of strong language. The very strong language comes in a scene where the leading female character berates an ex-boyfriend for his sexual proclivities and, after much provocation, he shouts the word back at her in anger. Our guidelines allow use of the strongest terms where there is contextual justification and it was felt that the unprovoked verbal attack on the man in this scene provided a context in which his verbal retort might be regarded as both natural and understandable. The other uses of strong language occur in a variety of contexts and are well covered by the Guidelines where frequent use of such language is permitted at 15.
Other issues in the film include some strong sex references and some passing references to drugs. The sex references mostly occur when the two leading characters are discussing past relationships and take the form of explicit references to sexual acts. The strength of these references does not test the boundaries of the rubric in the Guidelines at 15 where strong verbal references to sexual behaviour are permitted.
