THE 12TH MAN is a Norwegian historical thriller, set during World War II, in which the last surviving member of a band of Resistance fighters must escape to Sweden while evading capture by the Nazis.

Violence

There are frequent bloody shootings. There are also scenes of torture, most notably one in which a man has needles pushed underneath his fingernails.

Injury detail

A man's toe is shot off; there are repeated shots of the bloody stump and of the man's increasingly gangrenous foot. In one scene, a man amputates his toes.

Threat

There is strong sustained threat as the Nazis intently pursue and torture men.

There is also mild bad language, including uses of 'shit', 'damn' and 'God'.
