À PERDRE LA RAISON - OUR CHILDREN is a subtitled French language Belgian film about the breakdown of a couple's relationship. The film is rated 15 for distressing scenes.

The film opens with a woman lying in a hospital bed, asking her husband "Will you bury them in Morocco? You must bury them in Morocco". After this, we see four small white coffins moving up a ramp into the back of a plane. The rest of the film focusses the events that led up to this moment, from the couple's marriage and the birth of their children, through the woman's increasing depression, up to the moment when the children die. In the crucial scene, near the end of the film, it is implied that the mother has murdered her own children. The killings are not shown but we do see the mother calling her children to come upstairs, one by one, after which the mother tells the emergency services that she has killed them and that she wanted to kill herself but couldn't. In spite of the lack of any visual detail, the fact we are aware the children are going to die and that the mother has now become seriously depressed, means the scene of the children being called upstairs carries a strong and potentially distressing emotional impact. The audience suspects what is happening, which is then confirmed.

No-one younger than 15 may see a 15 rated film in the cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a 15 rated video or DVD.
