The BBFC will from now be including consumer advice on the Film classification certificate.
This is in addition to the production of consumer advice letters, which will continue to be produced where advice is required in advance of the formal classification process being completed.
The use of consumer advice for film is encouraged by the BBFC based on the clearly expressed desire for more information from the public. However, the use of this advice is voluntary on the part of the film companies, for instance on posters or other publicity material.
The BBFC has published such consumer advice on this website for over a year and will continue so to do.
