The High Court today found against the British Board of Film Classification in relation to the Board’s decision to refuse ‘R18’ classification for seven sex videos. The Board had sought a Judicial Review of a judgement by the Video Appeals Committee in 1999 upholding an Appeal by two distributors against the Board’s decision.
The Board will now consider the Judgement carefully.
The appeal to the VAC was brought by Sheptonhurst Ltd and Prime Time Promotions (Shifnal) Ltd and involved seven titles: Horny Catbabe, Nympho Nurse Nancy, T.V. Sex, Office Tart, Carnival International Version (Trailer), Wet Nurses 2 Continental Version and Miss Nude International Continental Version. The VAC found in favour of the the two companies and the decision was announced on 16 August 1999.
