The Video Appeals Committee is an independent body constituted under section 4(3) of the Video Recordings Act to hear appeals from submitting companies against any BBFC classification decisions on their video works which they consider stricter than warranted.
Appeals have been lodged by video distributors Sheptonhurst and Prime Time Promotions against the BBFC’s refusal to grant ‘R18’ certificates to 7 sex videos. The hearing will take place before the Video Appeals Committee at:

commencing Tuesday 27th July at 10.30 am. The hearing, if unfinished, will continue on Wednesday 28th July at the same time.
