Fees are based on the length of the work plus a handling fee and are calculated according to the following tariff:

Theatrical features and trailers

Handling fee of £100 per submission plus £7.00 per minute for full length of work.

Film cancellation charge

Charged incurred if work is cancelled within 24 hours of viewing

Charity rate

30% of the standard rate

The Charity rate is available only to charities registered in the UK. A registered UK charity number will be required with submission

The BBFC operates a prepayment system for all works submitted. New customers requiring classification for theatrical release are required to have funds in place with the BBFC before booking their work in.

Customers can pay by cheque or bank transfer. Payments can also be made via our website using Visa/Mastercard/Maestro/Solo

Some customers may prefer to send money on account which is run down as works are received and topped up as necessary. A ‘deposit against prepayment scheme’ is also possible. In all cases a VAT invoice is raised after examination has taken place, or when the secondary process has been approved.
