DRAGON AGE - ORIGINS - ULTIMATE EDITION is a fantasy role-playing game for the PC. This version includes the previous downloadable extra missions for the game. It was classified '18' for strong bloody violence.
At '15' the BBFC's Guidelines state that 'Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable'. There is bloody violence throughout the gameplay, while the 'cut scenes' show characters slashing enemies in the face, driving knives into their heads and so on. These attacks are accompanied by the sight of spurting blood. If the player follows a certain story path they may also kill innocent characters in cold blood. This focus on blood and bloody injury was not permissible at the '15' category.
The game also includes some moderate sex references, including a short 'cut scene' in which villainous soldiers prepare to rape a dead woman as she's "still warm" (the rape is not shown). The game also includes slurs directed towards women, such as calling them 'whores'. There are some sex scenes that depict characters in their underwear as they kiss. Language heard throughout the game includes uses of 'bitch and 'bastard'.
