SVALTA is a British comedy horror film in which a family heads to a secluded Swedish island on holiday and receives a hostile welcome from locals.
- A man voyeuristically watches a woman through one-way mirrors installed throughout a house. It is also implied that he masturbates while watching secretly captured footage of a couple engaging in oral sex. During an unsettling scene, a character enters a woman’s bedroom and lies down behind her, however, he is prevented from going any further. There is infrequent use of very strong language ('c**t'), as well as more frequent use of strong language ('f**k') and milder terms such as 'dick', 'dickhead', 'shit', 'bullshit', 'bloody', 'Jesus', 'God' and 'hell'. Comic verbal references are made to marijuana smoking and Class A drug misuse. However, drug misuse is clearly not condoned by the work as a whole. Comic verbal and visual references are made to fellatio. Scenes of moderate threat occur, including a group of characters menacingly surrounding a woman and her baby during a historical flashback sequence.
